The features of the software are varied and deep. These include customized workbooks and rewards, 36 interactive activities, 50 printable activities, automatic help, play arcade games and earn points, more than 80 skills covered, parents progress reports, together with three skill levels. It is understandable that kids who enjoy the use of the software for kids have an understanding and grasping ability that is of a much higher scale than those who do not use the software. This is due to the fact that the kind of exposure they get is of a much higher magnitude than their counterparts, whose exposure to that kind of learning environment is next to zero.
My friend went to a "mindfulness in education" conference over the summer and has completely restructured his classroom and the way he runs it this year. There are couches in the corner where students can work, clip boards in hand. The room is full of plants and they even have a class hamster, Veronica, which students can visit if theyve finished their work. "I want them to feel comfortable in here," he told me and for the most part, they appeared to be. After the lesson got started, it looked much more like your average math class, with a do now and work stations and group work, but the community that has been established certainly gave the room a different feel. Its an interesting experiment and one that the administration at my school has supported thus far.
Why Math Problems Become Apparent Halfway Through The School Year The first question that many parents have when a teacher mentions that a child is struggling with 2nd grade math is why they werent informed sooner. This can be an unfair question, as teachers are rarely aware of weaknesses until theyve had time to work with their students for several months. This is why mid-year math problems are fairly common with 2nd graders. In reality, kids who struggle with math are usually struggling with instruction techniques, which is why differentiated instruction is gaining favor in thousands of United States classrooms. However, it can be hard for both teachers and parents to spot problems and therefore make the appropriate changes. The right tools can make this process easier.
Custom Individualized Instruction In an ideal world, every student would be able to receive one-on-on instruction to optimize his or her learning experience. However, this is rarely possible in a modern classroom setting where there can be over twenty students and only one teacher with no aids or helpers on hand. This high ratio of students to teachers can make teaching 2nd grade math even more difficult. But online math games are designed to move at the personal pace of each child who plays. Kids who need to go back and review ideas from kindergarten and first grade are free to do so, while others who are ready to tackle multi-digit addition and subtraction problems will find them presented in a vibrant setting that is both entertaining and engaging. In this way, teachers can present individualized instruction even when they arent able to personally work with every student in the class.

Second grade is an exciting time for children. They learn crucial skills in math and reading that will serve as the foundations for the next school year and beyond. Unfortunately, many children start to fall behind their peers and classmates when they reach the second grade. Thankfully, getting 2nd grade help for your child is easier than ever. By being involved in their education now, youll help inspire a lifelong love of learning and an enthusiasm in the subjects that your child previously struggled in. Does Your Child Show These Symptoms of Needing Help? Many children wont admit that theyre having trouble in school. Thats why most parents and caregivers dont realize theres a problem until its too late to seek out 2nd grade help. If your child starts to show less and less interest in school, doesnt complete their homework, or has brought home a note from the teacher or principal - its time to get them the tutoring they need before things get worse. Oftentimes, children dont know how to express that they dont understand something, so they act out or become disruptive in class. Fortunately, by stepping in early, parents and caregivers can intervene and help their child overcome these issues and improve in challenging areas.
