The abacus is the perfect way to make your child understand number systems. The abacus can adopt itself to any base system and allows you to quickly perform calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division - even with decimal places. If you want your child to realize his potential and utilize it too then you need to put them on correct path of learning to be able to facilitate this. Math can be pretty daunting but if your child is able to master it then his confidence will grow manifold. Obviously you dont envisage a future for your child totally dependent on the electronic calculator even for the smallest calculation. The present education scenario is fast leading to that. That is why many schools in Asia and elsewhere too have adopted the abacus formally for teaching mathematics.
3rd Grade science fair projects are fun for students, teachers and Moms. Projects for this grade level usually involve simple, yet hands-on experimenting with various objects that surround us in our everyday life. Even though the assistance of the teacher or Mom is often necessary, 3rd grade science fair projects should be, for the most part, easy enough for the student to handle the majority of the experimentation. Children, from a very young age, ask many questions, and even do their own simple experiments with their toys, water or anything they can get their hands on! We as adults may not realize that a child at play is actually performing his own experiment. A young child will see how many blocks he can stack before they fall over; see how many cups of water will fill his bucket or what will happen if he drops the egg on the floor! If parents could learn to perceive their childs action as experimental, rather than naughty or normal, than the parent will be able to assist the child to answer his own question through experimentation. Children learn through play and by doing things themselves, therefore let your child explore his environment, provided it is done in a safe manner. A child who is allowed to experiment will increase confidence in his abilities and develop good problem solving skills. Instead of answering his question with the obvious answer to us, as adults, "the egg will break - dont drop it on the floor", let your child drop the egg and see for himself what will happen!
Just because your child will be playing fun online games doesnt mean the same value wont be there. Create a comfortable study zone. Turn off outside distractions such as cell phones, radios or TVs. Make sure your child is not tired or hungry so that he or she can focus all attention on learning. Also try to keep the lessons consistent with what is being learned in school. A quick chat with the teacher or signing up for an online newsletter from the classroom are ways to keep tabs on the lesson plans. Since 3rd grade math relies on the concepts that were learned during kindergarten, first and second grades, dont be afraid to start your child at a lower level. With adaptive learning, the programs wont move on to the next level until your child has a firm grasp on the current material. The online games will be a wonderful way for your child to catch up on basic arithmetic concepts and be comfortable using them across applications.
One of the implications for these findings is the importance of physical fitness programs for school aged children, and for increased support of school-sponsored fitness programs. Children spend a significant portion of their waking hours at school, and most schools have some type of physical education class during the week. The unfortunate by-product of poor student achievement in some schools is the elimination of physical education classes in an effort to increase instructional time. As we see here, this is probably the exact opposite prescription the children need. Some schools have not ignored the research done by Hillman and others exploring the connection between intelligence and physical fitness. For example, the Newsweek article points out that schools have already taking steps such as putting PE class before reading class. The result is better scores all around.
Main Characters - Who will support you in your business? Do you have an assistant? Coach? Belong to a Mastermind? When I first started my business, it was just me doing everything. Along the way, I added support as I quickly realized that I could not accomplish my dreams and goals without more help. Today, I have a virtual assistant, a web designer and a project assistant. Support is a key factor in building and sustaining a successful business. 4. Plot - Whats the vision for your business? What does your Big Idea, Dream, or Goal look like? This was the most challenging part for my son Jack. Taking what he read and being able to articulate it in a format that would make sense to anyone who picked up the report but may have never read the book. This, too, is true for your business. You need to be able to articulate your business idea and what it does with real vision and clarity, so that when you meet with your ideal client, they understand that what you have to offer is for them.
Problem - What problem does your ideal client have that you can solve when they work with you or use your product? This is key to writing effective marketing materials. 6. Solution - Whats the solution that you provide? For example, are you a small business attorney who helps entrepreneurs keep their businesses legally healthy? Do you provide services to help people grow their businesses? People will always invest in solutions that they believe will clearly solve their problems. Jacks book report was on Doctor Doolittle. He enjoyed the book and all of its characters. Taking everything he discovered in the book and putting it on paper was not always easy at times, but it clearly helped him to better understand what he read. He had to get up a few times, walk away, and take a break but in the end, he was really proud of his work.
