Your distinct sense of reality was formed during and because of, the flitting episodes of ideal ambitions. You were king and queen for a day and believed you could do anything you wanted, in whatever way you wanted. It was throughout this infallible phase that many dammed up creative energies were discharged, exchanged and enjoyed. The curious wisdom you gained, expended and engaged in was without limit or barrier. Your indelible sense of humor was spun from the wheel of intricate events {be they pleasant or no} fashioned at this time. What was going on in your family? The bed of your empathetic nature was carefully made with clean fresh sheets. You were able to see more than what was taking place; you transcended the mundane.
The hierarchy of sentinel importance established during this season is still maintained by you today. Your worlds parameters are constructed, bent, and hewn by the unconscious motivating factors launched during this monumental time frame. No other time is your mother so vitally important, along with the role she played in your life. Where was your father? Did he make any explicit impact during this phase? Ponder. Your indispensable educational bent of mind was implanted during this all consuming year of conversion. From 10 to 11 you made an abrupt shift in consciousness which is being revisited at his point in your sphere of influence.
With much wringing of hands and agitation, the Common Core Standards entered the scene. Very much like the "national" standards, these act as a guide, a format so that teachers in Colorado teach algebraic computation requirements and so do those in Alabama and New York. If we even want to discuss and then live a level playing field, common expectations for teaching and learning are critical. Again there were no day-by-day declarations on how to teach or specific methodology, just to make sure that students were being taught essentials. Guidelines and techniques are available, but as far as I know no school or district has created a verbatim script that teachers must follow. Astute teachers also recognize that Sally is ready for Step B while Tommy is off and running on Step D. And Susie needs enrichment to support her as she learns and masters difficult concepts. Adjustment for every child is indispensable to excellence in learning.
5th grade science fair projects are a little bit more involved than the previous grades. At this age students are expected to come up with their own topic, perform the majority of the experiment on their own and be able to write a small report on it with minimal adult assistance. This isnt too difficult because fifth graders are full of questions about the world, so they shouldnt have any trouble coming up with a topic and conducting a little experiment to find out the answer. Though if a student is looking for some ideas, there is one great 5th grade science fair project where one will create a fire proof balloon. To test this, the student will need adult supervision. The adult will assist the 5th grader to blow up the balloon, tie it shut, and place it over a match. The balloon will pop as you bring it close to the flame. The student will then take the second balloon and put ΒΌ cup of water into balloon, blow it up and tie it closed. When placed over a lit match, the student will find that the balloon will not pop, even if it touches the flame, though it may get a black patch on it from soot. The reason why the balloon will not pop is because the flame heats the liquid behind the rubber, rather than the rubber itself. The student can do another project involving heat and rubber by gathering a few rubber bands and examining the rubber as it relates to heat, a form of energy. All they will need for this experiment is their forehead and some rubber bands. They are simply testing to see if the rubber bands get warmer or cooler when stretched. You can judge this by holding the rubber band to your head while stretching it.
The saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" also can relate to your writing, with the correctly chosen words you can turn a simple sentence into a chapter of information. One of the biggest obstacles in writing for marketing is that we are trained to write "intelligently", by this I mean coming off with wording that demonstrates our full use of the English language. In English classes starting in high school, we are taught to expand our vocabulary and expound the use of it. Take the last sentence for example, it could have just as easily been written - "In English classes starting in high school, we are taught to use a lot of words and explain in detail what is happening." Both have the same meaning but each carries a different weight with readers. The first version is fine for something like a blog but in marketing you need to appeal to as many different styles of readers as possible.
5th grade science experiments are fun because the children are able to work more independently and find answers out for themselves. They dont need as much adult assistance and are expected to shoulder much of the responsibility in thinking up their own topic, question and experiment to find the answer. There are many possibilities for fifth grade science experiments, including seeing if the color of a light affects how bright it appears in fog or in water, finding out where the best place to store apples is, such as fridge, wicker basket or plastic bowl, or finding out if the temperature of a magnet affects its magnetic field lines. To find out, the students will need a few magnets, one from the freezer, one kept at room temperature and one heated up. Have the students trace the magnetic field lines of each magnet by putting iron fillings on a sheet of paper over the magnet. Another experiment students could try is to see if the starting temperature of water affects how long it takes to freeze. All you need to do is get three ice cube trays (or one and label the rows with the temperature of water you started with) and start with three different temperatures of water; hot, cold, and room temperature. When done, the tray is placed back in the freezer. The temperature of the water will need to be monitored to see which one freezes first, second, and third. Be sure to have the students record the results for all experiments!
